About the Journal
Hickenia, boletín del Darwinion is a periodical journal edited and published between 1976 and 2006 by the Instituto de Botánica Darwinion from San Isidro (Argentina). The aim of Hickenia was the publication of short articles with botanical novelties, mainly new taxa or the resolution of taxonomical or nomenclatural problems. During those 31 years, 194 short papers on botanical topics were published. A total of 242 botanical names were published in Hickenia, among many newly described species and nomenclatural notes (https://www.ipni.org/p/1330-2; https://www.tropicos.org/publication/1330). During the years of publication, acted as directors Ángel Cabrera, Roberto Kiesling, Osvaldo Morrone and Mónica Ponce. The editorial board was integrated by Ana María Cialdella, María Ema Múlgura, Mónica Ponce, Roberto Kiesling, Nélida Bacigalupo, Nélida Troncoso, and Osvaldo Morrone. To all of them and to the reviewers involved, we owe the excellent quality of the published papers, which are now available to all interested readers.
