Abstract

The present study reports for the first time the presence of the North American annual herb Collomia grandiflora and the European perennial herb Potentilla recta in northern Patagonia. A population of Collomia grandiflora was found at the margin of a national route at San Carlos de Bariloche city (Río Negro province). Two populations of Potentilla recta were in wetlands: one close to Cholila town (Chubut province) and the other at the locality of Dina Huapi (Río Negro province). Individuals from both populations are described and the main morphological differences between each of these species and other species of the same genus previously cited for Patagonia are highlighted
