On the presence of a new adventitious species of Carthamus (Asteraceae, Cardueae) in Argentina

Carthamus tinctorius is reported as adventitious from Buenos Aires, Jujuy and Salta (Argentina). This is the second species of the genus recorded for our country. A description and illustrations of this taxon are presented herein, together with a key to identify both species in Argentina
