Novelities in Vernonia (Vernonieae, Asteraceae) for Argentina

Abstract

Vernonia lithospermifolia Hieron. and V. oxylepis Sch.Bip. are reported for the first time for Argentina. The first chromosome count for V. lithospermifolia (2n=20) is also notified. Besides, additional specimens of V. centauropsida Hieron., a species known only for the type material, are informed here. The three species are illustrated and compared with related taxa
