A new species of Grindelia (Asteraceae) from Uruguay

Abstract

A new species of Grindelia (Asteraceae) from Uruguay. Grindelia orientalis Bartoli, Tortosa et Rua is described and illustrated. Exomorphological and anatomical characters are analyzed. Morphological differences with another species with similar habitat, Grindelia aegialilts Cabrera are established. A key is provided for the identification of South American Grindelia species with postrated habit.
