Abstract

Iris orientalis Mill. (Iridaceae) has previously been recorded as adventive in Corrientes,
Entre Ríos and La Pampa provinces of Argentina. This note confirms adventitious specimens
collected in Entre Ríos, La Pampa and Buenos Aires provinces, but the records for Corrientes
could not be corroborated. The species is here described and illustrated, and a key to Iris species
recorded for Argentina is presented
